COURSE OVERVIEW

Emergencies can happen anytime and anywhere at the workplace, at home, during travel, or in public areas. Immediate and appropriate first aid can make a significant difference before professional medical assistance arrives. The First Aid, CPR & AED Training by Emnes Academy is designed to provide participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to confidently respond to common medical emergencies, injuries, and life-threatening situations. The programme combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical sessions, including CPR practice, AED operation, choking management, bleeding control, bandaging, casualty assessment, and emergency response simulations.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Understand the basic principles and responsibilities of a First Aider.
• Assess an emergency situation safely and effectively.
• Perform an initial casualty assessment.
• Recognise life-threatening medical emergencies.
• Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Understand and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• Provide assistance to a choking casualty.
• Control external bleeding and manage wounds.
• Recognise and manage shock.
• Provide first aid for burns and scalds.
• Manage fractures, sprains, strains and soft-tissue injuries.
• Respond appropriately to seizures, fainting and other medical emergencies.
• Place an unconscious breathing casualty in the recovery position.
• Communicate effectively with emergency medical services.
• Apply practical first-aid techniques until professional medical assistance arrives.
